M.A., Ed.D. (A community college leadership certificate program is being developed)

The higher education specialization within the leadership studies program at USD offers a community college leadership emphasis within both the M.A. and Ed.D. degrees. The program offers further training for community college professionals, as well as master‚s and doctoral students whose research interests are related to community colleges. A new program, which will be in place in 2007, will offer weekend courses toward an MA in community college teaching, learning, and leading for faculty and junior administrators who seek advanced administrative training. CCLDI (Community College Leadership Development Initiatives), which is now housed at USD, offers a summer leadership academy for community college administrators (see http://www.sandiego.edu/ccldi/academy.html); this week-long, intensive leadership experience will be offered for three units of degree credit toward the MA degree or community college leadership certificate beginning in 2007.
