Housed in the College of Education at the University of Missouri, the Center for Community College Research seeks to encourage, conduct, and disseminate research about the community college. Of particular interest to the Center is (1) the impact of national, state, and institutional credit-transfer systems upon community college students, (2) the effects of government and institutional policies on baccalaureate attainment through initial attendance at the community college, and (3) best practices facilitating community college students who wish to and do transfer to four-year colleges, particularly in the state of Missouri.

National Center for Postsecondary Research (NCPR)

NCPR was launched in October 2006 by the Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Teachers College, Columbia University, in collaboration with MDRC and the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia (UVA). The National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition has as its mission to support and advance efforts to improve student learning and transitions into and through higher education. Initiated in 1989, this Office operates within the College of Education of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The Office is dedicated to research, development and technical assistance dealing with critical policy issues facing the community college system in the state of Illinois. Projects dealing with P16/student transition (e.g., tech prep, school-to-work transition) and workforce development are prominent. Funding for the Office comes primarily from state and federal agencies, and corporate and foundation support is secured for selected projects.
