Announcement

We are excited to inform you that the new administrative home for the Council for the Study of Community Colleges will be the Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign beginning January 1, 2020. The organization is led by Dr. Eboni Zamani-Gallaher, who serves as director of OCCRL and professor of higher education and community college leadership in the College of Education at Illinois.  Dr. Zamani-Gallaher's academic career has focused on the transition of marginalized collegians, the transfer process, access policies, student development, and support services at community colleges. She has been actively involved with CSCC for more than two decades, including as chair of the dissertation of the year committee, membership committee, and as a board member for three years, serving as president-elect, president, and past president.

Dr. Zamani-Gallaher will serve as executive director of CSCC upon the transition. She no doubt will be an asset in helping us gain visibility and capital through her extensive experience working with nonprofit organizations, foundations, and two-and four-year institutions. We envision future collaborations with strategic partners who will help us grow our resource development operations and organization membership.

As we embark on this transition from the University of North Texas (UNT) to the University of Illinois, we extend our most sincere gratitude to Dr. Beverly Bower, CSCC's current executive director, as well as Sue Young, CSCC's administrative coordinator, for their dedicated service during the past six years. CSCC has reached new heights through our partnership with the team at UNT, and we look forward to accomplishing many great things with OCCRL in the coming years.

Sincerely,
Mark D'Amico, CSCC President
