Oregon State University's Doctorate in Adult and Higher Education with an option in Community College Leadership prepares faculty and administrators for leadership roles in technical and community colleges and similar organizations. The focus is on the application of quality research to the problems and opportunities in community colleges. Students enroll as members of a cohort with the goal of participating in an active learning community. Classes are scheduled for an intensive weekend twice per term at an off-campus conference center near Portland. Instructional methods include group and individual projects, scholarly discussion, and a professional internship. A major professor guides each student through the program.
