Program Emphasis

The Roueche Graduate Center offers a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Community College Leadership that prepares senior administrators, faculty, and other aspiring leaders for leadership positions in community and technical colleges.  The CCLP’s contemporary community college-centric curriculum--drawing upon the student learning, equity, success, and completion agendas--aligns essential competencies and characteristics with the knowledge base that prepares emerging leaders to tackle complex issues impacting today’s colleges. Program professors all have community college experience and contribute to the profession through scholarship, teaching, and service. Partnering with local community colleges to establish cohorts of 20 to 25 students, the CCLP brings its blended learning program to the college campus. Each eight-week course couples online discussions with two to three face-to-face Friday afternoon and Saturday sessions with renowned faculty members from across the nation. Two practicum experiences with senior community college leaders and research visits to exemplary community colleges bridge policy and practice.
